Most of Graft is free. Posting a task, browsing, messaging and sending offers cost nothing. Featuring is the one thing you can choose to pay for, and it does one job: it puts you or your task in front of more people, first. This guide explains how it works, for clients with a job to fill and for workers with a profile.

The short version. You pay a small fee for 3, 5, 7 or 14 days. During that time your job or your profile is shown above everything that is not featured, and it carries an amber Featured badge. When the time is up it goes back to normal by itself. Nothing is renewed automatically, and you are never charged again unless you choose to.

What you can feature

  • A job you have posted. A featured job sits at the top of Discover for the workers searching your trade and your city. This is for clients who want offers sooner or want more of them.
  • Your worker profile. A featured profile sits at the top when clients browse workers in your city, above everyone who is not featured. This is for workers who want to be found first.

You will find the option on the job itself, or on your profile, as a button to get featured. On the app it opens a sheet, and on the website it opens a panel. Both show the same thing.

What it costs

The longer you choose, the less each day costs. At the time of writing, in US dollars, the prices are:

  • A job: $0.99 for 3 days, $1.49 for 5 days, $1.99 for 7 days, $2.99 for 14 days.
  • A profile: $2.99 for 3 days, $4.49 for 5 days, $5.99 for 7 days, $8.99 for 14 days.

Prices in ZWG are set separately, not converted on the day, so they do not jump around with the exchange rate. Prices can change, so the figure on the screen when you pay is the one that counts. It is always shown before you confirm anything, and the amount you see is the amount you are charged.

How to pay

Choose how many days, then pay. USD payments are made with EcoCash through Payonify. ZWG payments are made through Pesepay, which also takes cards and InnBucks. As with everything on Graft, you never type your PIN or card number into Graft itself. It goes to the payment company. When the payment is confirmed, your listing is featured straight away, and the screen tells you the date it runs until.

If you feature something that is already featured, the new days are added to the end of what you have left. They do not restart the clock and nothing is lost. The screen tells you before you pay: for example, "3 days left. Buying 7 more would run to 4 October."

What it looks like

A featured job or profile carries an amber badge with a small bolt and the word Featured. If you hold it over the badge, it explains itself: featured means paid for top placement.

That wording is deliberate. The Featured badge is not an endorsement from Graft. It says that someone paid to be seen first. The badges that mean Graft has checked something are different: the green tick means ID verified, and the gold badge means a qualification has been confirmed. We keep the colours and the shapes apart on purpose, so money and trust never look like the same thing.

Where featured listings show up

  • At the top of Discover and of search results, above listings that are not featured.
  • At the top of Browse Workers for your city.
  • In the featured shelves on the home screen.
  • Higher in the suggestions people are sent, when a job matches their trade.

Sorting by newest, by budget or by anything else still keeps featured listings first, because that is what you paid for.

If you are a client with a job posted

Featuring a job is worth thinking about when a job is urgent, when few workers in your trade are nearby, or when you have posted it and had no offers. Two things will help it more than the fee does:

  • A good task. A clear title, honest budget and photos. Featuring puts a poor task in front of more people who then scroll past it.
  • Replying quickly. Workers who see your featured job are looking for work now. An answer within a few hours keeps them interested.

Featuring does not change how hiring works. You still choose who to hire, you still need to be ID verified to accept an offer, and the money still goes into escrow before work starts.

If you are a worker with a profile

Featuring makes sure the client sees you. It cannot make them choose you, so put the basics right first:

  • Get verified. A featured profile with a green tick or a gold badge next to it is a much stronger message than a featured profile without one. See our guide on getting verified.
  • Complete your profile. Bio, photos of your work, your trade, your area and your confirmed qualifications.
  • Have some reviews. Clients look at your rating as soon as they see you.

A good time to feature your profile is when you have just finished a job and left a good review, or when you are between jobs and want work this week. A 7 day boost covers a full working week.

How long it lasts and what happens after

The end date is fixed when you pay. Graft checks every hour, and when your time is up the badge comes off and your listing drops back to its ordinary position. Nothing is renewed for you. If it was working, you can feature it again, and the days start from when the last ones end.

The badge disappears at the exact time it ends, so nobody is ever shown a Featured badge that has expired.

What featuring does not do

  • It does not guarantee offers, hires or a particular result. It gives you more views, and what you do with them is up to you.
  • It does not change your rating, your reviews or your badges.
  • It does not let you skip any rule. A featured job or profile follows the same rules as every other one, and a listing that breaks them can be taken down, boost included.
  • It does not change how you are paid. Payments, escrow and payouts work exactly the same.

Reminders and offers

If your profile or job is getting views but no work to show for them, Graft may suggest featuring it, by message or email. When that happens, we look at whether there is free advice we can give first, such as a missing photo or an empty bio, and we give that before we ever ask for money. If you would rather not get these suggestions at all, you can turn them off in your notification settings under Offers to get seen first.

Sometimes our team also features a listing for free, for example to make up for a problem or to promote work in a new area. Those look the same as a paid one and are marked as such in our records.

Quick answers

  • Do I have to? No. Most jobs and profiles are never featured and do fine.
  • Will I be charged again? No. Nothing renews by itself.
  • What if I paid and it did not go live? Tell us on the Help page with the time you paid, and our team will look into it.
  • Can I feature more than one job? Yes. Each job is featured on its own.
