Safety is built into everything we do
Every transaction, every conversation, and every worker on Graft is protected by multiple layers of safety — so you can hire and work with confidence.
How we protect you
ID-verified workers
Every worker must upload a government-issued national ID before they can accept work. We verify the document before granting access. Verified workers display a blue badge on their profile.
Escrow-protected payments
Your money is never sent directly to a worker. It is held in escrow by Graft and only released once you confirm the work is done — or after 72 hours if you don't respond after the worker marks it complete.
Anti-leakage protection
Graft automatically detects and blocks phone numbers, WhatsApp links, and email addresses shared in chat. All negotiations and agreements must stay on-platform — this protects both parties legally and financially.
Verified reviews
Reviews on Graft are only from clients who actually completed a paid contract with that worker. No fake reviews. Each review reflects a real job, paid and closed on the platform.
Dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, raise a dispute from your contract page. Our team reviews all evidence and mediates within 48 hours. Escrow is frozen during an active dispute so no money moves until the case is resolved.
Cancellation accountability
Cancelling a contract without good reason reflects on your record. The party who cancels receives a 1-star review automatically. This discourages bad-faith cancellations and protects workers who have already invested time.
Safety tips for clients
- Only hire workers with a verified ID badge. Check their profile for reviews and completed jobs before accepting an offer.
- Always fund escrow before work begins. Never pay cash to a worker without the protection fee going through Graft first.
- Never share your phone number, WhatsApp, or email in chat. All communication should stay on the platform.
- If a worker asks you to move off-platform or pay via mobile money directly, report them. This is a platform violation.
- Confirm completion only when you are satisfied. Take photos or videos of completed work before confirming, especially for large jobs.
- Leave an honest review after every job. Your feedback protects other clients and rewards workers who deliver great work.
Safety tips for workers
- Keep your profile complete and your ID up to date. Clients trust workers with full profiles and verified badges.
- Always wait for escrow to be funded before starting work. You are not protected if you work before payment is secured.
- Never accept payment outside the platform. If the escrow is not funded, do not start the job.
- Document your work with before-and-after photos. This protects you if a client raises a dispute about work quality.
- Mark milestones as complete promptly. The 72-hour auto-release window only starts once you mark the job done.
- If a client refuses to confirm completion after the job is done and won't communicate, contact Graft support — we will step in.
See something wrong? Report it.
If you encounter a worker or client asking to move off-platform, requesting direct payment, or behaving fraudulently — report it immediately. We investigate all reports within 24 hours.
